This blend of Montepulciano, Tempranillo, Carignan, and Zinfandel shows a crystal-clear red. It’s vibrant and clean, with a rustic edge that hints at something Spanish.
The nose opens with red fruit, but that fades quickly, giving way to something more layered. Floral notes come through—rosewater, orange blossom, soft purple fruit—lifted but not delicate. Beneath that, there’s a subtle mushroom character and a deeper, earthy quality. A trace of umami runs through it, almost smoky and mineral—tobacco, grilled meat, a touch of reduction.
On the palate, the wine is structured and bright. Acidity is lively, and the tannins are fine and chalky, giving the wine shape without compression. The texture feels active, dynamic—there’s movement in it.
Wild strawberry, fresh berries, and a touch of stone fruit run through the center. The fruit is clear and present, but never simple. After decanting, the wine settles into itself. The smoke recedes. What remains is balanced, precise, and expressive.
