Shirah Brodeux Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2021
Shirah Brodeux Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2021
When we set out to make BroDeux, it wasn’t to make a Bordeaux knock-off but to highlight the unique nature of Californian terroir expressed in a Bordeaux blend. Blending is the key here. With many California Cabernet options already available to kosher consumers, we feel the potential for something unique (and more authentically “Bordelaise”) lies in utilizing a blend of varieties. All that being said, this year’s BroDeux may be our most Bordeaux tasting we’ve ever concocted; full of elegant black cherry tones and a subtle yet spicy Brett.
Each piece of the blend contributes an important aspect- the Pegasus Cabernet gives a robust black cherry and plummy stone fruit base and a thick tannic structure while the Malbec and Petit Verdot from Sisquoc create playful acidity, forest berry and Bordelaise notes.
