This year's expression of Marchand's older plots from Gevrey Chambertin is deep and concentrated. Looks for lovely floral and kirsch elements, with round fruit flavors including plum and cherry, with a mix of earth and spice to round it out. Drinking this wine young will be an experience laden with vibrant tannin and acidity, while proper aeration and aging will expose a classic, structured Pinot Noir that represents the strength of the vintage and vineyard.
