Clos Triguedina is above all a history of a family, the Baldès family. Beginning in 1830 with Etienne Baldès, who selected the best terrain in the finest part of the Cahors wine region for planting his malbec vines, there has been six generations of dedicated winegrowers who have followed him.

Jean-Luc and Sabine Baldès continue this great family adventure and ensure a new transmission between generations in 2023 with the arrival at the estate of their daughter Juliette.

Clos Triguedina

In past times pilgrims made no mistakes in choosing to come here. Clos Triguedina, a land of generosity, a land of wine-makers. Over the generations the Baldès family’s work reveals the traditions and the ‘terroir’ of the Cahors wine region, its evolution and the quintessential nature of its grape varieties

In 96 A. D. , the Roman emperor Domitian ordered France’s vines to be grubbed up and cereals to be grown instead. In 280 A. D. , after the order was annulled by another emperor, Probus, the vine was planted in the Quercy region once again. It was in tribute to him that Jean, the father of Jean-Luc Baldes, created the first cuvee of this top-of-the-range Appellation Cahors wine in 1976

Cuvée Probus is a powerful, refined wine with great depth. Its aromas of black fruit, truffle and liquorice offer a complex and elegant taste experience. Perfect with a meal of character.
