Vineyard and Terroir: Pomerol is blessed with a variety of terroirs that produce both lighter wines and darker, more complex wines. The vineyards of Domaine Roses Camille, and specifically the Echo vineyard, is rich in clay and gravel, embedded in iron rich soils. Along with a vineyard age of 60+ years on average, the best possible circumstances are in place to produce world class wine.
Vintage Notes: The 2020 Pomerol vintage is widely seen as a benchmark year, combining natural power with freshness and precision. A warm, dry season brought excellent ripeness and concentration, while cooler nights helped the wines keep their lift and aromatic clarity. The best 2020s feel complete and finely shaped, with deep fruit, polished structure, and the kind of balance that supports long aging.
Winemaker Tasting Notes: One of the top Echo releases ever. This is a single-vineyard Pomerol from a site just outside the winery doors, about half a mile from the Domaine vineyard. In its youth, it shows a ripe, expressive profile with layers of blackberry, plum, cherry, chocolate, cigar box, with a palate that is full-bodied and intense, with bright acidity and serious, mouth-coating tannin, The élevage is intentionally nuanced, using barrels of different sizes and ages, then harmonized in tank before bottling to create a seamless final blend. This is already enjoyable with a 30–60 minute decant, especially if you like a bold, structured Pomerol, but it’s still early and will reward patience. Best from 2030–2038. A truly timeless Echo Roses Camille release.
