Chateau Tertre Daugay Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2009
From Gabriel Geller October 25, 2017 - Château Tertre Daugay, Grand Cru Classé, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 2009: The winery is now named Château Quintus, since its purchase in 2011 by Domaine Clarence Dillon. Deep cherry red in color. On the nose, aromas of ripe raspberries and black cherries, with rich loamy dirt, pipe smoke, wet earth and barnyard funk. Full-bodied, concentrated and plush, with layers of ripe red fruit, earth, dried mushrooms, smoked meat, earthy minerals, with medium acidity, rich chewy tannins as well as notes of chocolate-covered cherries and more earth on the medium-plus long and lush finish. This is so delicious now, quite ripe Parker style but scrumptious, will develop even more tertiary aromas over the next few years but definitely ready to drink with little decanting (one hour or less). 14.5% Abv
