Chateau Marquisat de Binet "Cuvee Abel" 2016
A special cuvee aged in 100% concrete tanks, no oak treatment. The wine itself is very playful, fruit forward, but held upright by a stony structure of earth. While only a few hundred yards away from St Emilion proper, and the legendary Chateaux that surround this special mountain, it's amazing to see such unique qualities of terroir that not only typifies a region, but also accents the virtues of this most unique property. One of Bordeaux's only true hillside estates.
A legend returns with the 2016 Marquisat de Binet "Cuvée Abel". One of the first true benchmark kosher Bordeaux wines, Cuvée Abel has been with us since the 2012 vintage and continues to impress. This special cuvée is aged entirely in concrete, with no oak influence, allowing the pure Montagne Saint-Émilion Merlot fruit and mineral-laced terroir to shine through. Expect vibrant cherries, subtle spice, and earthy depth. It’s both classic and supremely drinkable—a Bordeaux that proves finesse doesn't require wood. I don’t think there’s another kosher wine that has a current release at nearly 10 years of age. This is magic in a bottle, and there’s simply no other explanation.
